The first major snowstorm of March is headed to northern New England.
The National Weather Service says the storm is expected to arrive Wednesday and continue through Thursday morning in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Meteorologist Nikki Becker says snowfall tallies will range from around 4 inches on the coast of New Hampshire and southern Maine to up to a foot of snow farther inland. She says the storm will start as rain on the coast before the arrival of colder air causes a transformation to snow.
Vermont can expect heavy snow as well. Forecasters say it’ll be the first significant snowfall of the month in the region.
