Maine State Police trooper Shane Northrup watches his dog sniff for explosives Tuesday in a classroom at the flatiron building of the old Cony High School in Augusta.  Police from across Maine conditioned their dogs to detect bomb materials in the builbuilding during a monthly in-service training, according to State Police Sgt. Blaine Bronson, who oversees the dog training.
