MADISON — Maine School Administrative District 59 has announced its bus routes for Athens, Madison, Brighton Plantation and Starks’ upcoming school year. The first day of school is Aug. 30 for students grades K-9 and Aug. 31 for students grades 10-12.

Please note that all pick up and drop off times listed in the bus schedule below are estimates. The bus may be later or earlier than the time listed, especially the first week of school. Children must be ready and waiting for the bus earlier than the time listed and be patient if the bus is later than indicated.

Please also note that it may be necessary to adjust bus schedules during the first few weeks of school. The bus driver will notify if pick up or drop off times change.

Students in MSAD 59 who live in town will either walk to school or catch a bus at a designated bus stop, depending on where they live. The following student bus stop locations, pick up time, and drop off locations will be available: Grades 1-4 Superintendent’s Office, 55 Weston Ave., 7:58 a.m., Madison Elementary; grades 1-4 Former Old Point Avenue School, 7:37 a.m., Madison Elementary; grades 1-4 Nichols Street and Old Point Avenue, 7:41 a.m. Madison Elementary; grades 9-12 Madison Area Jr. High School, 7:45 a.m., Madison High School.
