AUGUSTA — The Augusta Civic Center will be open as a warming center due to the winter storm Thursday.

Officials announced on the city’s Facebook page that the shelter will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Cumberland Room at the city-owned auditorium and conference center. Attendees are directed to enter through the front doors and follow signs to the Cumberland Room.

Anyone with questions, or in need of a ride to building, at 76 Community Drive, may call the Augusta Police Department’s non-emergency line at 626-2370, ext. 0.

Also, the Augusta Overnight Emergency Warming Center, at South Parish Congregational Church, is open every night, from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.
