Nicole Poulakis scored twice and second-seeded New Hampshire jumped out to a four-goal lead and held on to beat third-seeded Maine, 5-3, in an America East field hockey semifinal Friday in Albany, New York.
Maine ends the season 11-9 overall. New Hampshire (10-9) advances to face No. 4 Vermont, which upset No. 1 Albany, 1-0, in the conference championship game at noon Sunday.
Brecken Calcari, Kathelijne Knuttel and Faye Meijer also scored for the Wildcats. Abby Johnson had five saves.
Kate Richardson, Alexandra Sacker and Zoe Furber scored for Maine, which pulled within 4-3 in the second quarter. Jayde Temby and Rozárie Mrázová combined to make 11 saves.
