WATERVILLE — A man and woman were arrested Wednesday on drug trafficking charges after a “lengthy investigation,” police said.
Zachary Burnham, 33, was charged with four counts of Class A aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, and Elizabeth Burnham, 58, of Winslow was charged with one count of the same charge.
The Waterville Police Department executed search warrants Wednesday at an apartment at 7 King St. in Waterville and a room at 31 Main St. in Fairfield, according to a statement issued by the department Thursday.
Police said Zachary Burnham owns the residences that were searched, but it was not clear Thursday where he lives.
Police also did not specify Wednesday the kind or quantity of drugs found.
Zachary Burnham was being held Thursday at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility in Augusta, with no bail allowed, police said.
Elizabeth Burnham posted $1,000 cash bail and was released.
The two are due back in court Feb. 10, 2025, in Augusta.
The Fairfield Police Department assisted in executing the search warrants.
