FARMNGTON — The High Peaks Alliance invites outdoor enthusiasts to an après ski social event set for 4-6 p.m. Saturday, March 8.
The event, to be held at the Bill & Joan Alfond Competition Center at Sugarloaf, 9008 Main St. in Carrabassett Valley, is free and open to all interested parties.
The social celebrates the alliance’s ongoing efforts to ensure recreational access to the High Peaks landscape. Attendees can meet the Alliance team, discover new hiking trails, and learn about mountain biking and backcountry skiing access in the region.
At 4:45 p.m. Executive Director Brent West will deliver a brief presentation on the alliance’s mission, recent successes and upcoming projects. There will be light fare for all guests, and the first 40 attendees will receive complimentary beverage tickets.
The Competition Center, which opened in 2016, has become a hub for athletes of all levels and a center for social activity and networking in the Sugarloaf area.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
