The Carrabassett Valley resort will offer a commemorative 75th anniversary face buff to the first 75 guests in line Friday.

The Monday morning blaze on West Kingfield Road started around a woodstove, the fire chief said.

The medical examiner’s office identified the man as 63-year-old Kendall Willard of Kingfield.

The guest’s ‘untimely death’ occurred Saturday around 9 a.m., a spokesperson for the Carrabassett Valley ski resort confirmed.
