PALMYRA — Police were investigating at a residence at 531 Madawaska Road on Wednesday.
Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said via email Wednesday morning she could only confirm that the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit — Central was investigating an “incident” in Palmyra.
Police hope to release more information later Wednesday, according to Moss.
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police and the Pittsfield Police Department responded to what was listed as a “medical emergency” on the Madawaska Road shortly after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Somerset County emergency dispatch log.
Investigators at the scene midday Wednesday declined to provide further information about what they were investigating.
Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday morning that his office had no information to release about the investigation, as it is a state police case. Mitchell confirmed deputies from his office had responded to the incident early Wednesday morning.
Madawaska Road runs from Pittsfield to U.S. Route 2 in Palmyra.
