I support re-electing Colleen Lachowicz, D-Waterville, for Senate District 16, which includes Albion, Benton, Clinton, Fairfield, Unity Township, Waterville and Winslow in Kennebec County.
Colleen is an effective senator who served admirably as chairwoman of the Local and County Government Committee and as a member of the Health and Human Services Committee. Her experience providing services to families and children enables Colleen to provide strong leadership on both committees.
Colleen supports Maine farms and small businesses. She supported a loan program to promote expansion of small businesses and jobs for Maine workers. She supported programs to maintain lake water quality. She supported improvements to the MaineCare rides program, which was impaired when an out-of-state contractor was hired. She supported health care assistance programs for Maine people.
When re-elected, she will carefully consider all proposed legislation and do her best to support the needs of Maine people.
