Jacob Hudson notched a natural hat trick, Robert Cronin and Shawn Element each added a goal and two assists, the Maine Mariners scored six straight goals Saturday night in a 7-3 ECHL win over the Wheeling Nailers at Cross Insurance Arena.
Cronin’s goal 23 seconds into the second period broke a 2-2 tie. Hudson then scored the next three goals, one in the second period and two in the third.
Tristan Thompson and Jacob Perreault also scored for Maine. Mariners goalie Luke Cavallin made 24 saves.
Former UMaine player Nolan Renwick scored one of two power-play goals for Wheeling.
