Abby McCarty scored with six minutes left in the first half to lift third-seeded Mt. Abram to a 1-0 win over No. 6 Wells in a Class C South girls soccer quarterfinal Tuesday in Salem Township.
Mt. Abram (12-2-1) advances to play No. 2 North Yarmouth Academy in the semifinals on Saturday.
Cheyenne Allen assisted on the goal. Edna Bilodeau made five saves for the shutout.
Samantha Woodward had two saves for Wells (7-8).
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 8, SCHENCK/STEARNS 0: Hayli Paradis netted three goals in the first half, starting the fifth-seeded Mustangs (8-5-2) on their way to a Class D preliminary-round win in Monmouth.
Riley Smith added two goals and an assist as she reached 50 goals for her career. Annabelle Carlton had a goal and an assist, and Lauren Burnham and Eliza Armandi also scored.
Monmouth will head north to fourth-seeded Madawaska for a quarterfinal on Saturday.
Maddyann Austin made 20 saves for Schenck/Stearns (2-13).
