Bryant erased an early nine-point deficit with a 19-3 run in the first half and led the rest of the way, completing a season sweep against UMaine with a 73-67 men’s basketball victory Saturday in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
The game was a rematch of last year’s America East championship game, won by Bryant, but both teams have struggled this season. Maine fell to 6-19 overall, 4-6 in the conference. Bryant is also 4-6 in America East, and 8-16 overall.
Timofei Rudovskii led Bryant with 16 points.
Maine’s Logan Carey scored 16 points before fouling out. Mekhi Gray added 15 points, TJ Biel had 14, and Ryan Mabrey finished with 10.
The Black Bears were outrebounded 39-23 and were just 18 for 30 from the free-throw line.
