Thomas and Lola Vallee, of Augusta, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Alyssa Vallee, to John DeMerchant III, son of Kimberly and Michael Bard, of Augusta, and John and Cathy DeMerchant, of Vassalboro.

Alyssa is a 2009 graduate of Cony High School, and a graduate of the University of Maine, Orono, where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in child development. She is employed by Gallant Therapy Services as the Section 28 Assistant Director. John is a 2007 graduate of Cony High School, and a graduate of University of Maine, Orono, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is employed by Vallee Configurations.

A May 30, 2015, wedding is planned in Old Orchard Beach.
