Each morning, Hannaford culls its shelves to make room for ever-fresher items. Thanks to a partnership with Good Shepherd, these produce, bakery and meat items are passed on to local food banks and soup kitchens.
The Hallowell Food Bank would like to thank Hannaford for sharing this fresh food, for we would not be able to provide it on our own and it has allowed our clients an opportunity to raise the quality of meals that they can put on their tables. It is very satisfying to overhear clients sharing cooking tips from how to prepare bok choy to the best way to roast a squash.
Together we can address food insecurities and ensure that our neighbors have healthy meal options.
