BANGOR — A car crash on Interstate 95 has led to the arrest of a Danforth man on charges of methamphetamine trafficking.
Maine State Police investigating the single car crash near the Penobscot-Aroostook County line near Sherman on Tuesday night called the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency to the scene after discovering the driver was in possession of what appeared to be methamphetamine.

The vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Zachary Faulkner, was impounded and agents executing a search warrant on Wednesday found a number of items in the trunk that are commonly used in the “shake and bake” or “one pot” method of manufacturing methamphetamine.
Faulkner, already in jail on charges related to the crash, was arrested on drug charges.
He remains in jail. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
MDEA was assisted during the search of the trunk by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the Bangor Fire Department.
MDEA said it is the 12th meth lab the agency has responded to this year.
