Mark Butterfield, of Bangor, has announced the engagement of his daughter, Brooke A. Butterfield, to Ryan P. Dawes, son of Kim and Dennis Dawes, of Belgrade.

Brooke, of Bangor, also is the daughter of the late Kristine Butterfield. She is a graduate of the University of Maine and attends Regis College in Weston, Mass. She is in her last semester of the nurse practitioner program.

Dawes, of Rochester, N.Y., is a graduate of UMaine and attends the University of Rochester, New York. He is a current Ph.D. in neuroscience student.

An Oct. 17, 2015, wedding is planned at Morgan Hill Event Center.
