AUGUSTA — Attorneys from Lipman & Katz in Augusta celebrated Law Day May 1 by hosting a mock trial for fifth-grade students at Lincoln Elementary School in Augusta. The interactive learning experience included a mock trial video and engaged students in the trial process, according to a news release from Nancy Marshall Communications. The educational opportunity was designed raise awareness about the value of the court system.

Attorneys Karen Boston and Caleb Gannon led the mock trial, provided valuable insight for the students about how a trial works and taught them about the vocabulary of a courtroom.

In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared May 1 to be Law Day. The United States officially recognizes Law Day as a time to reflect on the role of law in the foundation of the country and to recognize its importance to society.
