STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society’s pictorial 2016 calendars are now available. The cover features Stratton High School class of 1966 — 50 Years Ago, with Sandra Fotter Scribner, Ina Harris Asselin, Edwin Hewett, Donald Hicks, Marcel Nadeau and their teacher Jim Horn, who told them to look serious, according to a news release from the society.

Inside pages:

• February — Team of horses and sleds crossing the South Branch of the Dead River;

• March — Wayne Fletcher at Kibby Kamps, circa 1950s;

• April — Pat Taylor farm, near Stratton village;

The back page of the calendar features a paragraph about each photograph which adds to the value of the calendars, according to the release.

Calendars are for sale at Pine’s Market and Fotter’s Market. Calendars also can be purchased by mail for $6 plus $2 for postage for each calendar. Send request with payment to Dead River Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 15, Stratton, ME 04982.

There also are many pictorial calendars left from previous years for sale at $2.50 each.
