My name is Cheryl Cook and I am running for the two-year position on the selectboard for the town of Belgrade.

I worked for the town of Belgrade for nine years as town clerk and tax collector, retiring in 2014. I also worked for the city of Waterville finance department for five years and two years for the town of Vinalhaven as administrative assistant.

Currently I am on the Belgrade budget committee, and I am the Planning Board secretary.

With my many years of municipal government work, I feel I am a good candidate for the position. Having been tax collector, I know how hard it is for people to pay their property taxes, so I would work hard to keep taxes as low as possible.
