Police arrested a 36-year-old New Hampshire man who allegedly robbed a Fryeburg convenience store Sunday afternoon, WCSH-TV reported.
John Chilafoe of North Conway allegedly robbed the Mobil “On the Run” store on Main Street in Fryeburg before fleeing in his sport utility vehicle toward the New Hampshire border with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was taken into custody at his home in North Conway without incident, the Portland TV station reported.
“I am pleased we were able to bring the suspect to justice so quickly,” said Fryeburg Police Chief Joshua Potvin. “The clerk made an excellent eyewitness and was able to provide key descriptors of the suspect and his vehicle.”
