A commercial airliner landed without incident Monday afternoon after its pilot reported a potential problem with the plane’s flaps.
Paul Bradbury, director of the Portland International Jetport, said he was not certain exactly what prompted the call to the jetport’s air-traffic control tower.
Flaps are used to lower speed and increase the angle of descent when making a landing.
“Whatever it was, it was a nonissue,” Bradbury said.
The plane landed safely around 4 p.m.
