PLAYING FOR A CAUSE: The 3rd Annual Battle for Breast Cancer Tournament will be held Saturday at Thomas College in Waterville. The Lawrence Bulldogs have been raising funds for the Franklin Memorial Community Network, the proceeds will help local women obtain the care needed such as annual examinations, mammograms and awareness of early detection, prevention and treatments of breast cancer. The team has collected pledges from the community businesses, family members and friends with individual pledge forms, and a bottle drive and a team car wash. This year, eight teams have been invited to play, representing, Skowhegan, Winslow, Messalonskee, Mt. Blue, Lawrence, Mt. View, Leavitt and Nokomis high schools.
