READFIELD — The 2nd annual Children’s Christmas Shopping event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Readfield United Methodist Church, 1564 Main St.

All children in surrounding communities between the ages of 5-12 are invited to shop for Christmas gifts for their parents and siblings. All gifts will cost $1 (or less).

Volunteers will help children make their selections and then wrap their purchases. Parents can relax and have snacks while the little ones shop.

All proceeds will be used to toward youth activities in the church. The event is sponsored by the United Methodist Women.
