OAKLAND — Police arrested and charged a 14-year-old with arson Monday afternoon in connection with a dumpster fire set behind a restaurant in Oakland.
Fire and law enforcement officials responded to a 4:33 p.m. call reporting a fire at the Early Bird Restaurant on Main Street and the small blaze was put out, according to Oakland Police Chief Michael Tracy.
The fire did not cause damage to the building and the incident was minor overall, Tracy said.
Sgt. Peter Tibbetts conducted a quick investigation, which led to the suspect’s arrest within two hours of the initial fire call.
