STANDISH — Kayla Kelly scored six goals and Kara Kelly added two more Thursday to lead St. Joseph’s to an 11-7 women’s lacrosse win over the University of Southern Maine.
The Monks are 4-0.
Alex Farley, Allison Irish and Aliza Jordan each scored two goals for Southern Maine (1-3), which was outscored 5-2 in the second half.
BABSON 21, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 9: Lexi Lenaghan scored six goals and Taylor Thorbahn had four as the Beavers (3-3) pulled away in the second half to defeat the Nor’easters (2-2) at Babson Park, Massachusetts.
Nichole Carvalho finished with four goals for UNE.
BASEBALL
TCNJ 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Tommy McCarthy drove in a run in the first inning and Danny Borup added an RBI in the seventh as the Lions (5-2) shut out the Huskies (3-3) at Auburndale, Florida.
Joe Cirillo had eight strikeouts and allowed four hits over eight innings for The College of New Jersey, and USM’s Ben Lambert struck out seven and gave up four hits through 62/3 innings.
KEENE ST. 9, BOWDOIN 6: Nate Rossi and Devin Springfield each had an RBI and two runs scored, and Connor Walsh finished with two RBI and a run as the Owls (5-4) scored seven runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Polar Bears (1-3) at Auburndale, Florida.
Austin Zakow had two RBI and scored a run for Bowdoin.
SOFTBALL
TENNESSEE-CHATTANOOGA 6, MAINE 0: Katie Corum drove in a run and Hayleigh Weissenbach added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie as the Mocs (12-14) shut out the Black Bears (6-13) at Clearwater, Florida.
UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND WINS TWICE: Andrea Gosper had two hits and three RBI to lead the Nor’easters in a 10-2 win over SUNY-Geneseo (7-2) at Clermont, Florida.
Meg Harvey and Sydnee Bessler each added two RBI for UNE, which jumped to a 6-1 lead through three innings.
The Nor’easters (4-4) then beat Westfield State 3-2 as Melissa Jakubowski had two RBI.
BOWDOIN WINS TWICE: Natalie Edwards and Natasha Fingar each drove in three runs and Samantha Valdivia added two RBI to lift the Polar Bears past Framingham State 12-7 at Clermont, Florida.
Mycala Moody led Framingham (2-6) with three hits and four RBI.
Later, Jordan Gordy and Caroline Rice each had two RBI and a run scored as the Polar Bears (4-0) cruised to an 8-3 win over Endicott (6-2).
Lauren O’Shea had three hits and drove in a run for Bowdoin, which took a 5-0 lead after two innings.
Endicott’s Jamie Hopgood finished with three hits and an RBI.
SOUTHERN MAINE SPLITS: Erica Merullo, Courtney Erickson and Meaghan Race each hit a home run as Trinity (6-2) topped the Huskies 13-5 at Clermont, Florida.
Amber Kelly, Brooke Cross and Hannah Kenney each drove in a run for USM (2-4), which led 4-1 after two innings.
The Huskies (2-4) beat Northwestern of Minnesota, 7-2.
