Two men accused of trafficking drugs in downtown Farmington have been indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on charges of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and violation of bail.

Omer Havtan and Jonathan Toothaker, both of Farmington, shared an apartment on Broadway where, police say, they were selling drugs.

Havtan, 21, was indicted Wednesday on three counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, violation of bail and criminal forfeiture.

He was arrested originally Jan. 11 when police searched the apartment and found cocaine, marijuana, pills and other evidence of trafficking drugs.

Toothaker, 22, is charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and violation of bail.

The charges are aggravated because the apartment is within 1,000 feet of Meetinghouse Park, a designated drug-free zone and public park owned by the town.

The two men were among 12 people indicted last week. While not an indicator of guilt, an indictment is a formal accusation that indicates the grand jury believes there is enough evidence to go to trial.

Also indicted by the grand jury were:

• Kristi Rose Araujo, 36, of Temple, charted with acquiring drugs by deception and violation of bail.

• Derek S. Campbell, 32, of Wilton, charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

• Luke A.V. Charest, 38, of Stratton, charged with criminal OUI, refusing to submit to arrest and operating beyond license condition of restriction.

• Ricky P. Condon, 53, of Skowhegan, charged with theft.
