SKOWHEGAN — Sydney Ames and Ashley Alward combined to strike out 11 Camden Hills batters, as the Skowhegan softball team remained undefeated with an 11-1 win over the Windjammers in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference game Friday afternoon.
Ames hit two doubles and a single and drove in three runs. Sydney Reed had three hits and drove in three runs for Skowhegan (5-0), while Emma Duffy added a pair of hits.
Allison Glasier doubled and singled for Camden Hills (1-5).
ERSKINE 19, MOUNT VIEW 2: Maddy Boynton and Kayla Hodgkins each doubled and tripled to lead the Eagles to the KVAC B win in Thorndike.
Lydia Boucher also doubled for Erskine, while Mackenzie Strout tripled for the Eagles. Erskine is 1-4, while Mount View is 0-7.
LEAVITT 6, LAWRENCE 5: Emily Swan tripled and pitched a complete game to lead the Hornets (3-4) to the KVAC B victory in Fairfield.
Hannah Chouinard also tripled for Leavitt, while Mackenzie Treadwell had a double.
Sam Marshall pitched a complete game for the Bulldogs (3-3).
BASEBALL
BRIDEGWAY 14, BOOTHBAY 1, 5 INN.: The Bandits scored six runs in the second inning to pull away with the Mountain Valley Conference win.
Bridgeway (3-3) capitalized on six Boothbay (1-5) errors. Evan Bess doubled for Bridgeway, and Eric Wescott earned the win.
MARANACOOK 9, WINSLOW 1: Dan Garand had 10 strikeouts to lead the Black Bears to the KVAC win in Readfield.
Aric Belanger had a double, a single and two RBIs for Maranacook (6-1) while Jarred Schmidt added two singles.
Isaac Targett and Bryce Gunzinger each had a single for Winslow (0-8).
LEAVITT 6, LAWRENCE 5: Alan Peabody homered and Brian Hewitt picked up the win as the Hornets (3-3) won a marathon KVAC B contest in Fairfield.
Eli Lind went 2 for 3 with a double and Tim Albert went 2 for 5 with a two-bagger for Leavitt.
Braden Ballard homered for Lawrence (3-3), while Jared Dodge went 3 for 5 and Josh Dow picked up a double.
GIRLS LACROSSE
LAWRENCE 13, OCEANSIDE 6: Cassandra Poli scored five goals to lead the unbeaten Bulldogs to the KVAC win in Rockland.
Lexi Lewis and Nora Buck added three goals and two goals, respectively, for Lawrence (3-0). Sierra Weston made 23 saves.
Emily Tyler scored four goals for Oceanside (0-4).
BOOTHBAY 10, ERSKINE 6: Sydney Meader scored six goals to lead the Seahawks to the Class C victory in Boothbay.
Hannah Cola added three goals for Boothbay (3-1), while Chloe Arsenault had a goal and three assists.
Jordan Linscott scored four goals, while Joanna Linscott and Liz Sugg had a goal apiece.
BOYS LACROSSE
MESSALONSKEE 11, DEERING 5: Austin Pelletier was one of four Eagles with multiple-goal efforts in a win at Thomas College.
Pelletier finished with three goals for Messalonskee (4-1), while Dawson Charles, Colin Kinney and Alden Balboni all scored twice. Brennan Frances and Joshua Languet each added a goal in the win.
Omar Contreras scored twice for Deering (1-3).
