    Tom Bouchard, of Farmingdale, crosses the dam Sunday on Cobbossee Stream in Manchaster after fly fishing on New Years Day.  Bouchard said the mild conditions were perfect for wading in the stream and casting for trout “but after two hours my feet are cold.”

Josh Canty and Rachael Harris launch snowballs Tuesday at the boat landing on the Kennebec River in Gardiner.  Canty, a resident of the Republic of Mexico, and Harris, a resident of the Marshall Islands, attended Gardiner Area High School together and were flinging snow at their buddy, Jeremy Sales, during a break at home.

    SNAPSHOT: Angels heard on high

    People approach a living nativity scene on Water Street in Hallowell enacted Friday by the First Baptist Church of Hallowell. Members of the church are portraying the birth of Christ in a manger today as well, according to Pastor Michael Longfellow, to send a message about the season. “We want to remember that Christmas is not all about presents,” he said.
