James Weeks hoists staging Monday for a platform Maine Masonry erected over the sidewalk on Water Street in Gardiner.  Crews are refacing a brick building belonging to Bank of Maine and built two courses of staging over the sidewalk to reach the exterior.  The Bank is restoring the 19th century building on Gardiner’s main street, according to Senior Vice President Renee Smyth, to make it suitable for occupancy.  Construction should be complete by late spring, Smith said.  “We will continue to invest in down town Gardiner,” she remarked.
