Betty Adams is a general assignment reporter whoās lived in Augusta for the past 35 years and been working for the Kennebec Journal for more than two decades. She covers the courts plus the towns of Belgrade, Fayette and Readfield. As adjunct instructor Elizabeth Adams, she teaches writing courses, including journalism, at the University of Maine at Augusta. In her spare time, when sheās not playing with the grandchildren, bicycling on the rail trail, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, she likes to travel both in the United States and abroad via cruise ship and occasionally on the back of a motorcycle. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and earned a masterās of journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
