Firefighters from Winthrop and surrounding communities worked to knock down a fire reported Monday afternoon at a Royal Street home in Winthrop.

Pittston man sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for accessing child pornography
Robert Brandt, 39, was sentenced in federal court to serve 18 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release and pay $18,000 in restitution as a result of his conviction for accessing child sexual assault material.
