OAKLAND — Friday’s field hockey game between Lawrence and Messalonskee was a rematch of one of the most surprising ties of the season. Messalonskee wanted to show that result was a fluke, while Lawrence wanted to show that it wasn’t.

PTC A FOOTBALL: Ground game, Cony mistakes boost Skowhegan
SKOWHEGAN — Adam Dusty carried the football 24 times for Skowhegan on Friday night, rushing for 206 yards and three touchdowns. But the most fun Dusty had all night was when he drilled Cony’s intended receiver on a pass play.

The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team is relying heavily on its defense right now. The Beavers have three shutouts, and have allowed only eight goals in eight games, but carry just a 4-4 record in to this afternoon’s home game with Thomas College.
