FARMINGTON — Tuesday night’s game against Edward Little High School was Steve Yardley’s fourth consecutive game at point guard for Mt. Blue. When point guard Eric Berry went down with an ankle injury, Yardley slid over to the position, and now he feels he’s getting the hang of the new position.

PITTSFIELD — When almost every player on the court can make a 3-pointer as if it were a layup, a 30-point lead can disappear like snow on a warm spring day.

Mt. Blue will play without starting point guard Eric Berry for at least one more game, coach Jim Bessey said. Berry sprained an ankle in an exhibition game over the holiday break.

WATERVILLE — Jasmine Bishop had already transferred to Thomas College when Ted Rioux, her former basketball coach at Waterville Senior High School, was hired to coach the Terriers. When she learned Rioux would be her coach, Bishop felt what had been a good decision to enroll at Thomas was now a great one.
