    Paul Anderson was elected as Rome's new first selectman during the annual Town Meeting elections on Friday. He initially tied incumbent Monica McCarthy, but she announced Saturday she would exit the contest, clearing the way for him to be seated on the board. Anderson has served several stints on the board previously.
