Jeff Hayden works on his mannequin head during class at the Capilo Institute in Augusta on Tuesday. The former Marine nearly killed himself in December 2013 after drinking and crashing his snowmobile in Madison. Struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, he signed up for a four-week long Chemical Dependency Recovery Program at the Togus veteran’s hospital and is now looking to start a career as a barber.
