David Trahan, the executive director of the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, wants to bring more transparency to the signature gathering process following the recent vote on bear hunting.

Katie Hansberry, who ran the unsuccessful campaign to change bear hunting practices in Maine, doesn’t think Maine needs to change the law that governs signature gathering.

Robert Goldman, who is with the Humane Society, talks to voters in November 2013 and requests that they sign a petition to put their bear hunting question on the ballot. Voters in 2014 rejected the ballot measure that sought to make it illegal for hunters to use bait, traps or hounds to hunt bear.
