    David Gilbert came up with the Thai chicken concept from his experiences living in Asia, and Kevin Sandes created Urban Sugar Donuts, a food truck in Portland that has evolved into The Eighty 8 Cafe. They'll combine their visions at the Money Cat restaurant in Waterville this fall.

    Friends and former classmates at John & Wales University in Providence will bring a pairing of fried chicken and doughnuts to downtown Waterville. David Gilbert of Dallas, Texas, and Kevin Sandes of Portland expect to open their restaurant in the fall.

    Fried chicken inspired by Thai street food, topped with a gourmet doughnut straight out of the fryer. This fall, the Money Cat restaurant at 173 Main St. in downtown Waterville will be serving them up in its 40-seat space that will be open early in the morning to late at night.
