Adam Myers, left, holds the ladder as Nicholas Kimball installs an American flag on a utility pole on Saturday along Water Street in Randolph. Earlier this summer plans to mark Randolph's transportation corridors with flags for the summer were derailed when the volunteers learned the town lacked the liability coverage required by the owners of the poles, Central Maine Power and Fairpoint Communications. The flags that had gone up had to come down. But with the help of a donation to cover the premiums and work by town officials and volunteers, the Maine Municipal Association insurance was secured on Friday, July 1, and the two firefighters put the flags up Saturday.
