Emily Cain, a former state lawmaker who's now executive director of the political organization Emily's List, addresses the Maine Women's March 2.0 event Saturday that drew about 2,500 demonstrators to Capitol Park in Augusta. State police and Skowhegan police and firefighters responded to this accident Monday that left a truck burned and overturned on the surface of ice on a small pond along Route 2 in Skowhegan. The woman driving the vehicle, who was on her way to the hospital to be induced to give birth, died as a result of the crash. Her newborn, who was delivered by emergency Cesarian section, died a few days later. Several fundraisers are have been planned to help the family with funeral expenses.
