The drought is back and shows no signs of leaving soon

Southern Maine is in the midst of another summer drought and it could become worse.

There isn’t going to be a big weather system this weekend, but there will be a series of small systems in the general flow.

After a dry July, we need rain and there may be some for coastal areas late tonight.

Depending on where you live, you might be watering your garden a lot or not at all.

Clouds are the dominant weather feature today with sunshine returning Friday. Saturday may bring back the clouds.

Such low temps are quite unusual for the middle of summer.

After high humidity the past few days the air begins to dry out today.

After a big solar storm this week the northern lights could be visible even in Portland on Sunday night.
