Based on my observations and knowledge with Suboxone, it needs to be easier to prescribe and easier for people to get from their physicians and clinics. There are many people who have stated that they would be clean if they could simply get a prescription of Suboxone; these people need to be helped.

Isn’t it amazing how some people can twist facts and tell half truths to make a person sound bad, when in fact they really do not know the facts (e.g., Carol Roux, letter, Oct. 30).

This is in response to Rep. Robert Nutting’s, R-Oakland, (Maine Compass, Oct. 24) concern that Sprint is spreading false emails on the AT&T acquisition of T-Mobile. If Nutting doesn’t think these jobs are at risk as a result of the merger than he does not understand corporate finance and strategy. It has nothing to do with Sprint and everything to do with fundamental reasons for any merger — i.e., revenue growth and leverage.

Often, a moral dilemma is debated in terms of the question “Do the ends justify the means?” Currently, Mainers are deliberating an issue that is exactly the opposite: “Do the means justify the ends?” While I am definitely a fan of jobs, and job creation is a worthy goal, it can’t be a matter of jobs at any cost.

Foreign-owned industrial wind companies are intruding here, damaging Maine’s sensitive wild places and hurting lives of those who depend upon a flourishing tourism. It’s a get-rich-quick scheme. Our tax dollars are up for grabs in the form of government subsidies.
