Republican Isgro was elected by a 423-vote margin on Tuesday, and on Wednesday his wife is due to deliver the couple’s fourth child at Inland Hospital.

Voters reelected Quirion and gave the 26-year-old Ayer a victory in her first try for public office.

The winning candidate will step in immediately as mayor to serve the remaining year of former Mayor William Stokes’ term in the city’s top elective post.

Turnout reported steady throughout the day in Central Maine.
