The jury returned the verdict Thursday afternoon on the sixth day of Cummings’ trial in the stabbing death of Aurele Fecteau, of Waterville.

In closing arguments, the prosecution urged jurors to follow the evidence in the case against Roland Cummings, who is accused of killing Aurele Fecteau, but the defense offered an alternative suspect and theories.
