U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson is not persuaded by government attorneys’ arguments that he should not consider Trump’s previous comments about the travel ban.

In reaction to the ruling, the president says, ‘I think we ought to go back to the first (ban) and go all the way’ to the Supreme Court.

The state has filed a complaint asserting that the new executive order is still essentially a Muslim ban, it hurts the ability of state businesses and universities to recruit top talent, and it damages the financial interests of the state.
