Search for missing Waterford man turns up human remains

Maine game wardens, using two search dogs, were looking for Ricky Lee Howard, who was last seen in October at his Waterford home.

The remains of Peter Higgins, 29, were found off Ocean Avenue Friday evening by group of hikers, police said.

The last known sighting of Tina Stadig, 40, occurred on May 28, 2017, and authorities haven’t turned up evidence pointing to her whereabouts.

Portland police are asking the public’s help locating Peter Higgins, 29, who was last seen Friday and has been out of touch with family and friends.
