Attorneys representing the town of Canaan and Lake George Regional Park have not been able to reach an agreement about the terms of the five appointments made in March and whether they were made correctly.

At a meeting Monday night, the board also re-appointed a Canaan resident who served previously on the park’s board to take the spot of a new appointee who submitted her resignation.

The park’s board of directors is refusing to accept the Canaan Select Board’s appointment of five new board members, while town officials believe they made the appointments legally.
