High-speed chase and crash in stolen U-Haul lands Portland man in jail – again

The incident Sunday night is the second time since October that the suspect stole a U-Haul truck and crashed it, police say.

Firefighters came from 6 towns and had to truck water from 3 miles away to fight the blaze on Chicopee Road that spread to a nearby barn.

The superintendent describes the fire, which resulted in no damage but led to the school’s evacuation, as an accident.
