WISCASSET — Yvette Alexandrou of Alna, a senior at Wiscasset High School, has been selected to receive the 2011 Principal’s Award.

Alexandrou has been an active member and president of the Civil Rights Team. She has been involved with the drama club and the District III Honor Chorus. She has been a class officer, and member of the class executive board, student council and National Honor Society. An honor roll student, Alexandrou has spent one year studying abroad in France.

Alexandrou was honored at a luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on April 2, where she was presented with a plaque and a $1,000 scholarship. She is the daughter of Darcie and Thomas Hutchins.
