Six Mainers file federal suit against LePage over labor mural removal
Six Mainers have formally challenged Gov. Paul LePage's controversial decision to remove a mural from the Maine Department of Labor headquarters in Augusta, according to a lawsuit that their lawyer said was filed electronically Friday evening to the U.S. District Court in Portland.

UMF’s McNair named Maine poet laureate
FARMINGTON -- Wesley McNair, award-winning poet and University of Maine at Farmington professor emeritus and writer in residence, was recently appointed by the governor as Maine's poet laureate. McNair accepted the honor at a ceremony at the Poetry Out Loud State Finals -- a national competition for high school students sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation.
